An Update from Our Soldier!
Ma'am,
I would like to extend our gratitude for the care packages you've been sending over to us here in Afghanistan. I wish I had more time to write a lengthier note for the kids, but we've been so busy here and our internet time is limited most days. If you'd please extend my thanks to them, and let them know I'll write again and answer some of their letters as soon as possible. As a small token of our thanks I'm including a photo of my platoon, and these are the guys you are directly helping over here.

Adopt-A-Soldier Project
The Adopt-a-Soldier Project is underway again this year at CFMS. This project “adopts” soldiers who are serving in our military at the present time. These soldiers are related to students right here on our campus! This year we have cousins and even a dad stationed in harm’s way that we are supporting.
Interested Literacy classes send them letters of thanks and encouragement as well as packages filled with snacks, treats, and candy as our way of showing how much we appreciate their sacrifice for us.
Individual students and families can also get involved.
You don’t have to be a member of a participating Literacy class. All you have to do is bring your donations to the front office. A list of suggested items is provided on the wish list. We also can use donations of spare change to put toward postage. Each box we send costs $13.45.
